Congratulations to Graham Dorreen who has won the Bowls New Zealand Volunteer of the Year Award.
Graham did an outstanding job at Browns Bay last season, particularly in the areas of sponsorship & grants and organisation around the Nationals, and was the driving force behind the inaugural Heartland 20,000 tournament. Since starting bowls, his overall contribution to the sport has been immense and this has now been recognised at the highest level. Well done Graham on behalf of the board and club members.
The award was announced at the Bowls NZ AGM on Saturday morning. Browns Bay were also finalists for the Club of the Year, Green Keeper of the Year and Administrator of the Year but were pipped at the post for the top honours in these categories.
