Browns Bay up and comers in the spotlight

Wednesday April 5, 2017 - A number of the Browns Bays Bowling Club's up and coming players (and management) will be in action on Friday and over the weekend, competing in the National Under 8's Intercentre being held in Christchurch.

Club President Jan Harrison will be playing alongside club mates Christeen Dalzell and Margaret Oates in the 1-8 Women's team (with club superman Grant Keats on the management team), while bowling sensation Rory Soden will be playing in the 1-8 Men's team. The North Harbour men won the National title last year and will again have the services of the very experienced Bruce Shand and Graham Dorreen as part of their management team.

The National Under 8's Intercentre is a recent addition to the Bowls NZ events calendar. This event follows the same structure as National Intercentre, being open entry to all 27 centres throughout New Zealand.

Players can only be selected to represent and play for a Centre in this competition if they are a Full Playing Member of a Club within that Centre and have been a Full Playing Member for less than eight years on 1st July of the season in which the event is being played.

Good luck to all our players and management. Bring home the big one for Browns Bay and North Harbour.
